Jefferson Street. We are open from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., Monday through Friday. We are closed on all official holidays.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>The Dixon District Chamber of Commerce was founded in 1909, and officially acknowledged as a nonprofit business entity by the State of California in 1950. We are recognized by the federal government as a tax exempt 501c6 nonprofit organization.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong> We are a group of dedicated business, association, and nonprofit leaders and volunteers who actively work together to advocate for our city, local businesses and community organizations, and the quality of life in our community.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>We invite you to attend our monthly Mixers, Mingles and Lunch Bunch, all of which are open to everyone, and give you a chance to get to know other business people, share information and build relationships. Our Ribbon Cuttings are when we welcome new member businesses and organizations into the Dixon Chamber. All of them offer you a chance to make new connections, network and promote your business or association.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>We offer Member Orientations once on a month, where you can learn all of the benefits of Chamber membership, and how we can help your business or organization be more successful.\u00a0 We can also do one-on-one orientations, based on individual business needs.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>In addition, we have many active committees for you to get involved in.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong> We promote and sponsor annual community activities like the historic Dixon May Fair Parade, which is the oldest State affiliated parade, and the annual Awards Night where we honor the Citizen of the Year, Business of the Year, Nonprofit of the Year, Ambassador of the Year, and Veteran of the Year. We sponsor candidate forums, Trunk or Treat for Chamber members to distribute goodies to the children in our community, and the most recently &#8211; the Concerts in the Plaza and Dia De Los Muertos.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>For more information about the Dixon Chamber or how to join, please visit our \u201cMembership\u201d link or stop by our office and we will be happy to assist you. The Ambassadors attend and assist at Chamber events including Grand Openings, Ribbon-Cuttings, Mixers, Mingles, and any other events. <\/strong><strong>It is the goal of the Ambassadors to function as liaisons and mentors to new and existing members by providing information about Chamber resources and helping to educate members on ways to maximize their membership.\u00a0<\/strong><strong>Meets on the first Wednesday of the month at 5 p.m. at the Chamber office.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Business Education and Resources<\/span> &#8211; H<\/strong><strong>osts seminars and forums to educate and connect business leaders and provides educational tools for businesses by gathering and sharing information pertinent to businesses. Presents the quarterly Women in Business seminars, which are open to the public. Provides local, regional, state, and federal resources to member businesses and organizations. <\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Cultural Arts Roundtable<\/span> &#8211; Works with arts groups and individual artists from all genres to promote the arts as a quality of life component in the community. Works with other committees to bring cultural arts programs to schools and the community.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><u>Education <\/u><\/strong><strong>\u00a0\u2013 W<\/strong><strong>orks to establish relationships between businesses and educational entities and strives to form partnerships to address and provide for the needs of our students. Meets on the fourth Tuesday of the month at 2 p.m. at the Chamber office.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Fundraising and Events<\/span> \u2013 Helps to plan and execute special events, fundraisers, and other Chamber of Commerce events as needed.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Membership Attraction &amp; Retention<\/span> &#8211; Evaluates Recruitment and Retention programs to bring in new members , and advises on Member Benefits for the Chamber membership.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><u>Networking<\/u> &#8211; Works to foster engagement among Chamber Members, Local Business Owners, Entrepreneurs, and Professionals.
