Citizen of the Year<\/b><\/h1>\n

Criteria for Nominating the \u201c2025 Citizen of the Year\u201d<\/h2>\n

Below is the criteria for nominating the \u201c2025 Citizen of the Year.\u201d<\/strong>
\nThe deadline is Thursday, February 5, 2026.<\/strong><\/p>\n

    \n
  1. Nominee must live in Dixon.<\/strong><\/li>\n
  2. Participation in all-around community activities and civic enterprise.<\/strong><\/li>\n
  3. Evidence of lasting contribution to community welfare.<\/strong><\/li>\n
  4. Evidence of leadership ability.<\/strong><\/li>\n
  5. Cooperation with individuals and civic organizations.<\/strong><\/li>\n
  6. Unselfish devotion and contribution without thought to personal gain.<\/strong><\/li>\n
  7. Nominees cannot be prior Citizen of the Year winners<\/strong><\/li>\n
  8. Contributions and community activities must have taken place within the City of Dixon.<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    Please submit a letter of recommendation explaining why you believe the nominee is worthy of this prestigious award. Please list, as completely as possible, the nominee\u2019s past activities, as the award is based on an individual\u2019s cumulative service to the community. Include the nominee\u2019s involvement with business, professional, civic, and\/or religious committees and any offices held.<\/strong><\/p>\n

    Recipient of this award will be chosen based on the criteria above, NOT on the number of nominations received. Petitions will not be accepted. Nominees must be nominated by an individual.<\/strong><\/p>\n

    You must include the following information, or your nomination will not be considered \u2013<\/strong><\/p>\n

    1. Nominee\u2019s name, address, phone number, spouse\u2019s name, years of residency in Dixon and occupation.<\/strong><\/li>\n
    2. Your name, address, and phone number<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

      All letters submitted must be signed and dated. All nominations must be received at the Chamber office no later than 12 noon on Thursday, February 5, 2026.       This award is traditionally a surprise to the recipient. Therefore, you should not tell them that their name has been submitted. The Dixon \u201c2025 Citizen of the Year\u201d award will be presented at the Dixon Chamber\u2019s \u201cCelebrate Dixon<\/em>\u201d Annual Awards Night Dinner on March 14, 2026.<\/strong><\/p>\n
